WE WIN SO HANG IN

1 CORINTHIANS 15:57-58

1 CORINTHIANS 15:57-58 NKJ
57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Here are two favorite verses of mine.  They have such a faith-filled positive tone.  Thanks be to God.  Why?  Because He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.  This verse says God gives us the victory.  Whatever we must deal with in life, He causes us to win in Christ.

Over sin, we win!  Over sickness and disease, we win!  Over fear and depression, we win!  Over hopelessness and despair, we win!  Over poverty and lack, we win!   If this world has it and it's destructive and negative, then Jesus overcame it and His victory is our victory.  This mentality can help us through so many of the things we face in this life.  As we stay connected to Him, we win.

One of the ways we stay connected is by staying involved in the work of the Lord.  We owe so much to the Lord for saving and delivering us.  So, to serve Him in advancing His Kingdom is not asking too much from us.

And there is another motivation for serving.  We know that whatever we do for the Lord is not in vain useless.  Regardless of the scope of the work or how important what we do is to other people, if we do it for Him, it counts.  What matters most is that we do what we do out of a heart to love and serve the Lord.

So, He gives us the victory over things that would harm us or hold us down.  And we are strong and consistent in serving Him and advancing His Kingdom.  And we know He honors those who honor Him - what a classic example of win/win.

APPLICATION

These verses are great ones to memorize and speak about yourself. These are great verses to thank God with.  Thank Him that through Christ you'll win.  Thank Him for the privilege of serving and working for Him.  Thank Him that your service is not forgotten or a waste of time.  And thank Him that He rewards those who look to please Him in this life.

That's a lot of thanks, but a lot of reasons to give thanks.  We win, so we hang in there with Him.

PRAYER

Thank you, Father, for the victory I have in Jesus.  His victory is my victory.  And my life is for You, to serve You and advance Your Kingdom here on the earth.  Nothing but a win here!
