SATAN'S FUTURE IS NOT GOOD
REVELATION 20:1-3, 10
REVELATION 20:1-3, 10 NKJ
1 Then I saw an angel coming down from heaven, having the key to the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. 2 He laid hold of the dragon, that serpent of old, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years; 3 and he cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive the nations no more till the thousand years were finished. But after these things he must be released for a little while.
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
One of the beautiful things about having a relationship with the Lord is the hope we have for the future.
Our lives here on earth are so short and temporary, especially when compared with eternity. It is easy to lose sight of the fact that we are spiritual beings living in a temporary body. But we will live for eternity. We get pretty caught up with life down here, but there is so much more to come. One thing about reading the book of Revelation is that it offers glimpses of eternity. And our eternity is looking good.
However, our enemy's eternity does not look bright. He will get bound up with a great chain by one angel. He is not so powerful that it will take an army of angels to wrap him up with a chain. Only one is needed.
Then he gets thrown, not let down gently, but tossed into the bottomless pit and sealed for a thousand years. Those of us who get to watch this will have no pity. Satan does get released from the pit and actually leads another rebellion against God. But this insurrection does not last long. A fire comes out of heaven and destroys the armies. Then Satan is thrown, again, into the lake of fire and brimstone and tormented day and night forever and ever. Amen. No tears shed.
APPLICATION:
This is a great chapter to remind Satan if he is trying to torment you regarding your future. You have a future with God where there is no torment. Whereas he is destined to be tormented forever and ever.
This chapter is the 'back of the book' stuff. That's where you read the back of the book so you know how the story turns out. As we read these last few chapters of Revelation, it's really starting to look good for our side. Ultimately God wins. We win. Satan loses, and we reign with Christ forever and ever. Amen and amen.

Father, I am so grateful You have given me a glimpse of what happens in the end of the age. I am so glad to be on Your side!
