REASONS TO BE GLAD

PSALMS 32:1-2, 10-11 NKJ

PSALMS 32:1-2, 10-11 NKJ
1 Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven,
Whose sin is covered.
2 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity,
And in whose spirit there is no deceit.

10 Many sorrows shall be to the wicked;
But he who trusts in the Lord, mercy shall surround him.
11 Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous;
And shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

Here are some great reasons to be glad. Keeping in mind these are spiritual truths not based on feelings, but they can certainly generate feelings.

We are glad because our sins are forgiven, and the Lord does not impute or charge our account with sin. Also, because we are forgiven and cleansed, we are free to walk before God, nothing deceitful in our hearts.

We are glad because our lives are not engulfed in sorrows. Many of those without God live a life that generates sorrows. They don't know any other way. But for those of us who trust in the Lord, mercy surrounds us. It is so much better to be surrounded by God's mercy than be surrounded by sorrows. So, because we are forgiven and cleansed. Because our past will not come back to haunt us. We are the blessed ones who have been made right in God's sight. And because we have learned a new way of living. We think, talk and believe in a new way. God's way. And His mercy is surrounding our life. Sorrows may come, but they don't stay. God's mercy is the stronger force.

So we can be glad and rejoice. We are the righteous, and the joy of the Lord is in us.

APPLICATION:

The Psalms are a good template to praise and worship God with. We can read these Psalms to Him and rejoice because of His forgiveness and mercy.

I believe one of the strongest witnesses for Christ is a Christian who is glad. Not glad because everything is perfect but glad because of what God has done for us. If anyone has reasons to be glad, it's those of us who have received God's grace and mercy. We don't have to wait to be glad we can start now.

PRAYER:

Thank You, Father, for Your forgiveness. Thank You for cleansing me and making me whole and new. Thank You for Your mercy that surrounds me. I trust in You. I trust in Your mercy, and I trust that good days are before me, so I am glad, and I will rejoice
