MORE ADVANTAGES TO THE FEAR OF GOD

PROVERBS 15:16, 33

PROVERBS 15:16, 33 NKJ
16 Better is a little with the fear of the Lord,
than great treasure with trouble.
33 The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom,
And before honor is humility.

OBSERVATION:

If you were given a choice, what would you choose? The fear of God, with the confidence and security it brings, and not much in the bank? Or a lot of money with a lot of trouble?

If you chose the fear of the Lord, you are showing yourself to be a wise person. And you are showing yourself to be a person of humility. Both traits, wisdom and humility, wind up creating great blessings,

Most people believe if they just had enough money, all their troubles would be over. Some of their troubles would be over, but there are troubles that money can not solve.

These scriptures show us a better, more advantageous way. The fear of the Lord with a small bank account is better than big money and big problems.

The fear, reverence, and respect of God is where wisdom starts. And wisdom is extremely valuable.

The fear of God is also directly connected to humility. Humility acknowledges God and His ways as greater and better. And honor follows the one with a humble heart.

Peace in your heart and home. Wisdom to deal with and get out of trouble. And honor, to be esteemed by God, is connected to the fear of God. That's doable.

APPLICATION:

The fear of the Lord in our lives is a choice. We choose this path. But having a reverence and life-altering respect for God does not diminish our lives. Our lives are enhanced by putting God first and honoring Him above ourselves.

Heaven is not the only built-in advantage for the believer. There are advantages to serving Him and fearing Him now.

PRAYER:

Dear Lord, I trust You. I trust that as I put You first, You will help make up any deficit in my life.
