DON'T LOOK AT ME!
So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?

ACTS 3:12 NKJ So when Peter saw it, he responded to the people: “Men of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Or why look so intently at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?
Peter gave a very wise response to the people who were "greatly amazed". These people had just seen a genuine miracle. A man who had been lame from birth, who sat and begged from those entering the temple, was walking and praising God.
This miracle shocked them to the core, and they were looking at Peter and John as the source of this wonderful healing. But Peter made it clear. It was God, not their own power or outstanding spirituality.
APPLICATION
Peter's words are a good pattern for us to follow. Whenever something wonderful happens in a person's life, whether it's salvation or healing, provision, or revelation, we give the credit to God. It's too easy to take credit ourselves, but we must look to God as our source. We owe Him our very breath, and the gifts and the grace in our lives is all from Him.
When we adopt this mindset, we are much less prone to allow people to make a big deal out of us. We know better we are not that awesome. But the Mighty God, the Creator of heaven and earth, has helped us. He is the awesome one, so don't look at me.
PRAYER
Dear Father, I would not even be here if not for You. I acknowledge You as the source of anything truly good in my life. The credit and honor go to You!
