ALWAYS SOMETHING TO BE GLAD ABOUT

PSALM 64:10

PSALM 64:10 NKJ
The righteous shall be glad in the Lord, and trust in Him.
And all the upright in heart shall glory.

Sometimes when reading scripture, no particular verse seems to resonate, so you don't quit; you simply read something else.  When I read Acts chapter 25 today, nothing really stood out.  I may read that same passage next month and several verses could really speak to my heart.

But for the sake of devotionals, I simply moved on to the Proverbs and then the Psalms.  Psalm 64:10 stood out to me as one of those repeated themes of the Psalms - being glad in the Lord which is connected to trusting in Him.

Those who have been made right in God's sight, the righteous, these shall be glad or happy or joyful in the Lord.  And they will trust or take refuge in Him.  The word trust can also mean to seek shade.  And all those who are living upright before God shall glory or shine or praise.  This is a positive passage. In our relationship with God, we always have something to be glad about.

APPLICATION

One of the beautiful admonishments of the Psalms is the consistent praise and gladness that is to surround those who trust in the Lord.  We can rejoice, praise, and be happy because we have a relationship with the Living God.  He is our shade when life turns up the heat, so we always have something or rather Someone to be glad about.

PRAYER

Thank you, Father.  I trust in You, so I praise You and have an inside track to true happiness living with You big in my life.
